Happy beginning of the week everyone!  Week 14 of Turbofire and my advanced workouts, I'm getting so close to the end of the program, it went by entirely too fast!  Nearing the end of my TF program is not the only thing exciting happening in my fitness week, I'm also going to be running a 5K this Saturday!  This will be my first 5K I've ever run in.  And I gotta tell ya, I'm not a runner, but I'm hoping that my Fire workouts will get me through :)  Chalene says it herself in Fire 60 that, that workout alone is equal to running 6 or 7 miles... Ha!  I sure hope so, because if that's true this 5K is gonna be a piece of cake!  Either way, I'm so glad to be doing this run, not only for me, but it is the Regatta 5K for Stein Hospice.  4 years ago, I lost my father in law to cancer, my husband lost his dad and my children lost their grandfather.  I'm running in honor of him.  He was a wonderful man and he deserves to be remembered in every way that we can remember him by.  We love and miss him dearly.  The week will end on a bitterly sweet high note.  RIP Dad.

So last night I got this picture message sent to my phone, low and behold it was a sexy shirtless self portrait of my hubby!  Now, most of you that know my hubs know that he is NOT naturally this hairless LOL!  I've been telling him for weeks to nix the chest hair and show off all the hard work he's put in with the P90X program.  He finally took my advice!  He has been doing the program for about 5 weeks now.  Unfortunately, a few weeks got derailed due to the backyard patio project he's been consumed with.  So for those weeks he kept up with cardio on the elliptical and your regular run of the mill push ups, sit ups and pull ups and kept a strict hold on his diet and that kept him where he needed to be until starting back up.  Kudos honey!  I am so flippin' proud of him, he looks amazing!  Can't wait to see his progess at the end of 90 days.  Join me all, give this guy a round of applause!

Hello hello all!  Very exciting week I'm heading into!  Today I started my Advanced Turbo rounds for TurboFire, yep, weighted gloves and all!  The program of course started me off with the Fire 60, the longest Fire class in the whole program and I'll tell you what, I knocked it outta the park and kept the weighted gloves on for the entire workout!  I really need to invest in a good heart rate monitor because I definitely burned some SERIOUS calories this morning and I am curious to know just how many!  So, if any of you out there can recommend a good one, fill me in, PLEASE!  For real, that workout was no joke, I was drenched in sweat after that hour long session!  The music in this workout is off the hook, felt like I was at a dance party, LOL ;)  After Fire 60 I tackled some Abs 10.  This ab workout is only 10 minutes long, but it will leave your abs SCREAMIN, promise!  These next few weeks of advanced Turbo-ing are going to make a HUGE difference in my numbers, I'm so ready to blast through this plateau!  The week is looking up!  How about you?!

It has seriously amazed me how fast time is flying by!  It seems like only yesterday I just started the TurboFire program and here I am on week 12, having just reached the 60 day milestone!  How crazy is that?!  So this week is a recovery week for me, so you know what that means.... 2 DAYS OFF!  In 60 days, I haven't had 2 days off from working out, what in the world am I going to do with myself?  Well, I have plenty to keep me busy, as I will still be working my tail off in this recovery week of Fire 45s and Stretch 40s.  Last week I ordered my advanced DVDs, along with them came the much anticipated weighted gloves.  I CANNOT wait to try these babies out, pics will definitely be posted next week :)  So, in the meantime, throughout my recovery week I'll do my TF workouts as scheduled and on my rest days I may take it outdoors for some light running.  I'm planning on running in a 5K in early July so I can start this week to prepare for that since I'll have some extra time ;)  Honestly can't wait for next week, the advanced workouts are going to take it to a whole new level!  What are you looking forward to this week, share with me!

So, I wasn't sure if should put this under Fitness or Food, but any way you slice it they both go hand in hand, right!?  Well, today is my rest day from the TurboFire workouts and I have to say... I'm kind of glad.  I feel a little guilty saying that because normally I can't get enough of my Turbo workouts, but today my body really needs to rest!  Honestly, I can't stress it enough that you MUST let your body rest at least once a week.  That rest day gives your muscles a break to breathe and just be.  It's their chance to re-group and re-built.  When you are rested, you are more capable to take on the rest of the week and any of the challenges it may bring.  So, rest up!  Liz's orders :)

Since today was a rest day, I had a little more time this morning to make a big breakfast.  I gotta tell ya, this breakfast was awesome and it really didn't take all that long to prepare.  I had a peppers and turkey bacon scramble.  1 whole egg, plus 2 egg whites, sliced up turkey bacon, chopped red bell pepper, sprinkle of mozzarella cheese, chopped scallions and salt n pepper to taste, mixed it all up and popped it in the microwave for about 3 minutes.  Very yummy!  And I added 1 half of a whole wheat english muffin and a cup of green tea flavored with a splash of lemon.  What a great way to start my day, I must say!  Stay cool out there today, stay hydrated and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Wow!  Time is seriously flying by, I can hardly believe that I've reached Day 60 in my TurboFire journey!  I only have 30 more days til I fully complete this program, it seems like only yesterday that I first started!  Well, let me start off by giving you my 60 day results.  This time around the numbers didn't drop so dramatically as they did in the first 30 days, but I still made some progress so that makes me happy.  I am a little discouraged the results weren't a little bit better, but this is only going to make me work my tail off for the next 30 days!  Ok, so here we go.  I ended up losing 2 inches total, 1/2 an inch off my waist and an 1 1/2 off my thighs.  I also lost an additional 5 lbs.  So, all in all, not too shabby.  I can respect this.

Now, for my week in fitness...  still in my HIIT workouts and loving every minute of it.  One more week of HIIT training and guess what.... the advance round of the Turbo workouts begin!  Look out because we are about to break out the weighted gloves!!  I'm really looking forward to this round, I expect to start busting through plateaus and watching more inches and lbs come off.  Here's to the next 30 days!  Have a wonderful week in fitness, I know I will!  What do you have planned?  Let's hear it!
